How to create a simple Signature
How to create a simple signature
Intro:
Here i will guide you through some easy steps to create a nice looking signature. The theme of this one is Halo.
Done with Adobe Photoshop CS3
Step 1.
Get your resources.
I found this online via Google.
Step 2.
The Canvas.
The standard size is : 352px × 102px, so we'll start off by making a 352px × 102px canvas like this:
Step 3.
Clouds.
With this Tutorial we will use the simple but graceful "Cloud" Render. So in another layer on the same canvas, render some clouds by going to Filter/Render/Clouds... You can do this as many times as you like to get the right pattern of clouds but once should be enough. THen it should look like this:
Step 4.
cropping & resizing.
Here you will have to cut out the Master-Cheif so he will be the only thing to be seen, an easy way to do this is to use the "Magic Eraser" tool and erase the background, thus leaving us with a very lonely master-chief
Dont worry if there are a few little specs of color on there, you wont notice them when its done.
Then throw it into the canvas with the clouds, and resize it using the "Scale" Tool in the edit/transform panel.
You can position the image also with the scale tool while you are resizing it, for this tutorial i placed the MC on the Right side looking left.
If you dont like that you can flip him to look to the right using edit/transform/flip horizontal then he will look to the right from the left.
Step 5.
Adding more effects.
So now we have our base image, lets have some fun with it. What im going to do is play with the clouds a bit more, and add scan lines(For scanline info check here ) threw in a lens flare and played with some filter options (solarize and auto-color).
Fix it up a little by playing with opacities and color levels, then merge all the layers together. To clean it up a throw a border around it with the Blending options from the Tabs menu, select stroke then set the position to "Inside" then it should look like this!
Final Step.
Text.
Last and very easy step is the Text rendering. If your like me and like to keep it simple, then your standard DOS font will do. But to make it stand out, "Blending Options" are your best friend.
Here i made some text, and using the B.O's Stroke and Drop Shadow, it stands out like Gangsta at an emo convension... Yeah...
I hope this helped out a little at least. Ive had a few requests to do a signature tutorial and now i hope i didnt let you all down. I know its basic but thats what you asked for Cheers ^_^
